Tickets are free but must be picked up in advance at the children’s desk. The Ketchikan Public Library and Parnassus Books is very pleased to present an evening with Pulitzer Prize finalist Eowyn Ivey beginning at 6:30pm in the large multi-purpose room. Eowyn took the international book world by storm with the publication of her novel “The Snow Child” which has been a best-seller around the world and won numerous awards including the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award for best fiction, and the 2012 UK National Book Award for International Author of the Year. Her moving novel tells the tale about 1920’s Alaskan homesteaders Jack and Mabel who are drifting apart until they build a child out of snow who offers them unexpected hope and love. Eowyn LeMay Ivey was raised in Alaska and lives in Chickaloon with her husband and children. She received her BA in journalism and minor in creative writing through the honors program at Western Washington University and studied creative nonfiction at the University of Alaska Anchorage graduate program. She worked as an award-winning reporter at the Frontiersman newspaper for nearly 10 years. The Snow Child is her debut novel. Call Charlotte at 228-2307 for more information.
