How the Program Works:
Children ages preschool through Junior High can register for the reading or listening club.
Preschoolers who are not yet reading can sign up for “What a Wonderful World” read-to-me club. Children will have a booklet to list the library books that have been read to them. There will be two different incentive prizes awarded and a final prize of a book and treat for completing the booklet.
You can register for the club anytime after June 4th and read and earn prizes until August 6th. There are no attendance requirements, just turn in your weekly reading log to pick up the week’s prize and enter for a GRAND PRIZE drawing every week! Pick up the next reading log and check out more reading material.
Sign up at the Ketchikan Public Library to receive your reading log, tote bag and other fun items.
All books read must be library books! They can be from Pt. Higgins, Fawn Mountain or the Public Library. Hours for the school libraries will be announced.
The Public Library will be offering a variety of programs all summer long including story times, cooking classes, crafts, the Teddy Bear Picnic, Magician Jeff Brown and an end-of-summer Pool Party. The school libraries may have additional offerings. Check with their staff.
Every reader will receive a booklet with information about the Summer Reading Club and weekly reading logs for the first two weeks. Read at least 30 minutes every day. Turn in your weekly reading log to receive a small prize and an entry ticket in a weekly GRAND PRIZE drawing. Nine GRAND PRIZES will be awarded, one each week to a lucky reader! Complete weekly reading logs to earn prizes and more entry tickets. Additional weekly reading logs will be available at the Library.
