Internet Use at the Public Library

The Internet is for Ketchikan Public Library cardholders only. Library patrons must have signed the "Acceptable Use Policy" before using the Internet. Internet use is first-come, first-served and patrons must sign up at the Front Desk. The library cannot take phone reservations. One-hour time slots are available between 10 AM and 5 PM. After 5 PM, slots are 1/2-hour only. Patrons may sign up for a time slot later in the day if the terminals are in current use, but if they are more than 5 minutes late, they will lose their time slot. Patrons may use the Internet terminals once a day only. If you need help getting started or need to use the Internet for research, please consult with a Librarian. Library staff cannot assist with e-mail questions or problems. The purpose of having Internet access in the Library is for research and information.
